Kurinuki Cup Making-90mins
Location: Studio 4, Lockside Studio, 5 Skippers Yard, E3 2RF
9th Feb 11.30-1pm, Sunday
23rd Feb 3.30-5pm, Sunday
Course Overview:
Experience a rare and playful ceramic technique in this 1.5-hour Kurinuki class, where making a vessel becomes an intuitive and creative journey. Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese carving method that transforms a single block of clay into a unique form, offering a fresh perspective beyond conventional techniques like throwing or coiling. Guided by our skilled instructor, you’ll carve your own cup or small bowl, letting the process flow naturally to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
This class offers a refreshing and less conventional approach to ceramics, where every cut reveals something new. It’s a hands-on exploration of creativity and a chance to connect with the clay in a way that’s both freeing and rewarding.
A small group setting with up to 8 participants, ensuring a fun and relaxed environment.
Join us for this engaging and unique experience, where every carve and curve is part of your story!
Your finished pieces will be ready for collection about 4 weeks after the course ends, but sometimes it may take a little longer. We’ll email you when your work is ready. Please collect your pieces within 6 weeks of receiving the email, as we unfortunately can’t store them for longer. If you are not collected within that time, we’ll give them to charity shops due to limited shelf space.
